May 11, 2011

First of all I have to say:

I HOPE YOU DVR'D EXTREME COUPONING TONIGHT!

But I need to remind you........ there are very few times that you are going to save over 95% on your grocery bill like these extreme people do.. REMEMBER.. this is for a show!

Sorry that I don't really have any GREAT deals to bring you today, but I wanted to give some advice on starting your own stockpile, as several people have shown interest in this lately.

First:
Like I said, don't even try for a 95% savings.. if you get there eventually.. GREAT.. but even if you can cut your grocery bills in HALF, you are doing very well for yourself!

Second:
When  you begin couponing, your stockpile is not going to appear magically.. it might take you a few months to really start to see a decent stockpile, atleast 6-8 weeks, I would say.

Third:
In the mean time, you can start building your coupon binder and getting other things in place like:
*A printer for printing valuable online coupons
*Ink for this printer, Paper for this printer
*Multiple pairs of scissors, one for home, one for your car, one for your binder
*A space in your closet, garage, extra bedroom, or basement where you are going to keep your stockpile
*Some bins for organizing small items like deoderants or razors, etc.
*Sturdy shelves for heavy cans, laundry soap, etc.
*An extra freezer/fridge (if you are lucky enough to have one, or to afford one) for stockpiling bread, vegetables, meat, etc.

**It is also a good idea to take a weekend, or a few days and roam around your local stores! This sounds crazy, but the quicker that you become familiar with your stores, the quicker you can get in and out, and you might even beat someone else to a deal this way! This will also help you when you are trying to organize your coupons later.

For example, if I have coupons for toothpaste, diapers, juice and frozen food, I organize my list the same way that I always make my way around the store. I always start at the pharmacy area, usually towards the front side of the store, make my way back to the baby section which is at the back in the middle, and then come up the last side to hit the main grocery items and finally hit the frozen and produce sections up by the checkouts (in WalMart).

Sometimes you can even ask your store's manager for a list of specific aisles and which items are in them.

Last:
Start checking coupon sites daily for deals, like I do. All of the deals I find online, you can too!

Check out sites like:
thekrazycouponlady.com
discountqueens.com
forthemommas.com
iheartthemart.com
facebook.com/pricechopper
iamthatlady.com

These are the main sites I go to and share deals from.. Check them out!

The main printable coupon sites are:
coupons.com
redplum.com
smartsource.com
target.com (coupon section)

You can also check:
ebay.com
thecouponclippers.com

etc. etc.

GOOD LUCK!
